22-year-old, Leeds based singer-songwriter, Kt, is no stranger to the entertainment space. Born in Australia and raised in Ireland, she trained in dance, drama, classical voice, piano and composition. Growing up listening to, and being influenced by vocal heavyweights such as Amy Winehouse, Etta James and Imelda May, then studying Popular Music at Leeds Conservatoire, Kt is a songwriter who sounds completely in control of her sound and creative vision.
Channelling empowerment and 'unapologetic self-confidence through candid lyrics' (Notion), Kt continues to build momentum following her debut single, Save Yourself, 'a beguiling offering' (Notion) and I'm Damn Fine, a 'must-listen ... powerful anthem of self-love' (Wordplay) with her new sassy soulful cut, Fickle Friend. Featuring fresh Pop Soul beats, her 'unique style and powerful vocals make for an incredibly uplifting and relatable experience.' (Earmilk)
Aimed at a friend who has broken her trust, Kt's ramping up boss-energy in this new attitude-filled single, Fickle Friend, produced by Galway-based Dave Skelton. Kt says, 'when you get screwed by a friend sometimes the only thing to do is to tell them how you really feel and then break-up.' Lyrically finessed lyrics like, 'don't you say it, don't you see it, don't you sell it, you're a salty bitch' has all the angry vibes that can come when someone breaks your trust.
Smitten? Debut EP coming 2024.
